SALOMON RUNNING ACADEMIES

The selection will happen on the SALOMON RUNNING FESTIVALS (SRF) in 2018:

MAXI RACE ANNECY (FRANCE) selection will be made on the 15K distance (Maxi Race)

ZUGSPITZ ULTRA TRAIL (GERMANY) selection will be made on the 25K (BASETRAIL)

STUBAI ULTRA (AUSTRIA) selection will be made on the 28K (BASICTRAIL)

TAHOE 200 (USA) selection will be made on a short distance which is being created

ULTRA PIRINEU (SPAIN) selection will be made on the MITJA PIRINEU which is being created (between 17-21km)

The first woman and the first man to finish one of the races mentionned above, born in 1998 and over who have no brand sponsor will get his/her ticket to the academy. So in total we should have 5 men and 5 women selected.

We suggest you to travel to one of the SALOMON RUNNING FESTIVALS to get a chance to be selected. Our aim is to develop one Salomon Running Festival by country in the coming years to make it more accessible

Runners are gathered during one week, with members of the Salomon international trail running team Max King and Ida Nilson

Gregory Vollet, Salomon International team Manager, and Sports Marketing Manager at the Salomon Headquarter will be there as well as other Salomon staff.

Each year is a bit different, the academy evolves and people are not always the same, participants are always different and have something new to bring.

Usually you wake up with a yoga class led by Ida, then you all have breakfast together before going for a run where you will be stopped to work on your downhill and uphill technics or how to use poles.

You go back to the hotel for lunch and in the afternoon you may have some workshops around nutrition, social medias tips, how to use a stab, a drone, or just how to master your smartphone. Some activities may be organized in relation to the country where it will be, let’s keep the surprise!

IT IS TOTALLY FREE. Everything is offered: flight ticket from wherever you are in the world, accommodation, food and a nice Salomon package with everything to run during one week!

This academy will celebrate its 4th edition in 2018. Each year we met great talents, great „young guns“ as we like to call them, all, full of energy, with great personalities, with intersting vision of their sport. They inspire us and help us to design the future.

More than that, it is an opportunity for two generations of athletes to meet and share the true spirit and values of our sport.

Some of them are now in the international reserve team (Rémi Bonnet, Jan Margarit, Lucy Bartholomew) which is the level right under the international elites team where we have Kilian Jornet, François d’Haene, Emelie Forsberg, Caroline Chaverot etc. Others are in the international future team (Stian Aarvik, Davide Magnini, Mélanie Albrecht, Patrick Caron) which is for runners under 23, running races shorter than marathon. And others joined the Salomon national teams or join other brands.

The academy is a great opportunity to make new friends from all over the world, to learn a lot from incredible athletes who are Max and Ida, to run in incredible places and if you are lucky to join maybe the salomon team. Whatever the end you will enjoy this week and remember it for a long time.
